Sponsored Missions
- Details
“Thank you for wanting to find out more about the sponsored missions. The people and projects we are introducing you to, are really special to us, and we pray may become so to you too, if they aren’t already! Apart from the bare minimum we need to cover costs of production, postage and packing,
which is approximately £3 in Europe and $5 in North America, we pass on everything to these projects.
The projects are all part of the International Christian Youthworks family, and are based in Africa, Europe and America. In Africa Patriarch has been used to sponsor young people's mission trips, Christian camps for slum kids, a Bible Teachers' Course for young African emerging leaders, Leadership conferences and regular support for national leaders. In Europe and America, Patriarch has supported emerging leaders' training and long term mission by young people to areas where the church is weakest. It also supports a network called EEA21 which links those with a heart to reach young Europeans for Christ. You can find out more about both by clicking on the logos.
Ultimately our prayer is that Patriarch will inspire many to catch a vision for mission as much as for scripture, and if you want to get involved, or join us on a mission trip, please do email us!”

Wilson Kabera ICY Uganda
We’ve known Wilson since he was a young volunteer working for a youth ministry in his home city of Kampala Uganda. When the ministry closed down, he kept ministering, living in a one room house so he could invest all he had to reach young people for Christ.
Inspired by his love and integrity, we have provided him with a house, and through Patriarch would like to provide him with a small monthly salary of $180 as well as funds to minister in the prisons, schools, orphanages and villages across Uganda.
Simon Chanilla
Alliance Ministries, Tanzania trains young leaders to teach the bible in secondary schools in Dar es Salam. The opportunities are huge, if only we could resource the training of teachers. Simon Chanilla is an amazingly gifted but humble leader who has a strategic role in training these young leaders. We are hoping through Patriarch to raise for Simon a salary of $220 a month.
East Africa Crusades and Leaders Conference Tanzania
In May 2008 young leaders from across East Africa will meet in Dar es Salam for training, encouragement and planning. As well as the conference, they will be running a crusade. We hope to raise $1000 through Patriarch to bring leaders from Ugandans and Kenya to join the Tanzanians and fund the week long conference and two crusades.
Peter Abungu, Praise Youth Ministries Kenya
Peter is one of the most humble and gracious men we know. He is a Kenyan who simply wants to reach the young people of Kenya. Over the years he has built a team of young leaders around him, who together work in Nairobi and rural Kenya sharing Christ and discipling young people. His particular passion is for the poor and orphaned, and PYM seeks not only to reach these young people but see them trained to become Bible Teachers.
Peter and his wife Julie, live by faith. They are expecting their first child in November, and we would like to bless this couple through Patriarch by providing a small monthly salary of $500 for the family.
European Emerging leader Training
Europe is a lost continent. We know of no evangelical young people at all in Slovenia. The European Evangelical Alliance are seeking to train a new generation of young leaders to reach and disciple young people across the continent. We would like, through Patriarch, to fund ICY trainers to travel to countries like Bosnia, Estonia and Greece to offer this training, and to support a New Zealander on sabbatical with us to develop a strategy for training and releasing young leaders to impact the dark continent of the twenty-first century.
American and Australian Emerging Leaders Training
International Christian Youthworks is committed to providing ministry and study opportunities to young leaders regardless of their financial resources. We are partnering with Bible Colleges and Mission agencies to provide opportunities for young leaders in Europe, North America and Australia to engage in youth ministry and gain a Bachelors or Masters Degree while they do it! To establish this program we are looking to support trainers in all three continents to develop these programs and make them financially and practically accessible to all.
Details of all these projects and people can be found on the ICY web site www.icy.org.uk or by emailing Colin and Melissa
